Severe Flood Hits Kinshasa & Lola ya Bonobo Sanctuary: Recovery Underway
A powerful storm system drenched Kinshasa in early April 2025, triggering the most severe flooding the region has seen in years. At least 33 lives were lost and thousands displaced. Catastrophic damage was widespread, including the beloved Lola ya Bonobo sanctuary, home to 70 rescued bonobos.
